New podcast interview: Brains on Campus (CJSR FM 88.5, Edmonton)

Back in November, I gave a book talk about A Cold Colonialism at the Department of History, Classics, and Religion at the University of Alberta. CJSR FM, the U of A’s indie campus radio station, recorded the talk live and condensed it into a 30-minute spot on the second episode of their new podcast, Brains on Campus. This was such a cool opportunity (and a cool way to give something back to my alma mater).

New review of Wiseman’s Frontier Science for The Otter~La loutre (NiCHE)

NiCHE’s blog, The Otter~La loutre, has just published my review of Matthew S. Wiseman’s Frontier Science: Northern Canada, Military Research, and the Cold War, 1945–1970 (University of Toronto Press, 2024). Wiseman has dug some fascinating, if sobering, stories on this subject out of the archives. I also appreciated how adroitly the book bridged between military history, the history of science, and Cold War history.
